Reuter's correspondent at Peking telegraphed 30th December that His Majesty's Government contemplated terminating 1911 agreement in accordance with article 7 unless position improves.

What foundation is there for rumour?

Portuguese and Chinese are also stated in same telegram to be taking more active measures to stop smuggling from Macao.
